All 37 Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes, how to enter them on PS4, Xbox and PC, which ones need a newspaper to unlock, and what they do to your save.
RDR2 cheats are phrases you type in Settings ā Cheats. For example, āAbundance is the dullest desireā gives infinite ammo and āYou want freedomā clears your wanted level. There are 37 cheats; a few must first be unlocked from newspapers. Cheats disable autosave and trophies or achievements while active.
In this guide
Red Dead Redemption 2 doesnāt use button codes like older Rockstar games. Instead, RDR2 cheats are short phrases ā little lines of cowboy wisdom ā that you type into a cheats menu. This guide lists all 37 RDR2 cheats, explains how to enter them on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and shows which ones you must unlock by reading newspapers first.

The best RDR2 cheats to try
- š« Infinite ammo ā Abundance is the dullest desire. Shootouts become pure fun.
- šļø Infinite Dead-Eye ā Be greedy only for foresight. Slow time whenever you like.
- šŗļø Reveal the map ā You long for sight and see nothing. Perfect for exploring and finding collectibles.
- š Call your horse from anywhere ā Better than my dog. No more whistling into the void.
- ā Clear bounties ā You want everyone to go away. A fresh start with the law.
- š° $500 ā Greed is now a virtue. A small boost early in the story.
Is there a money cheat in RDR2?
Yes, but itās small: āGreed is now a virtueā adds $500. It can help early on, but the real money in Red Dead Redemption 2 comes from story missions, selling pelts and valuables, robbing trains and stores, and the hidden gold bars around the map. Remember that cheats disable autosave while active, so use it, turn it off and save manually.
Honor cheats explained
Arthurās honor affects prices, dialogue, some story scenes and even the endingās tone. Three cheats control it: Virtue unearned is not virtue (max honor), You revel in your disgrace, I see (lowest honor) and Balance. All is balance (neutral). If you want to see how different honor levels change scenes, these cheats are a quick way to test it ā on a spare save.
Horse cheats
Horses are central to RDR2, and five cheats help: My kingdom is a horse raises bonding, Better than my dog lets you whistle from any distance, Run! Run! Run! spawns a racehorse, You want more than you have spawns a superior Arabian and You want something new spawns a random horse. Want to find great horses without cheats? See our RDR2 best horse guide.
Why isnāt my RDR2 cheat working?
- ā Check punctuation. āBalance. All is balanceā needs the full stop; āRun! Run! Run!ā needs the exclamation marks.
- ā Is it locked? Newspaper cheats only work after you reach the right part of the story and read the paper.
- ā Did you switch it on? Entering a cheat saves it; you still need to toggle it active.
- ā Are you in Red Dead Online? Cheats only work in story mode.
Do RDR2 cheats work on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC?
Yes. RDR2 runs on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility, and the cheats menu works exactly the same. On PC, the cheats menu is in the same place in Settings, and you type phrases with your keyboard. The phrases are the same on every platform.
