Denise Robinson — the first girlfriend

You meet Denise during the Los Santos mission Burning Desire, when CJ rescues her from a burning house. She lives in Ganton, close to Grove Street, and doesn’t care about CJ’s looks at all, which makes her the easiest girlfriend to start with. She enjoys fast food and bars on dates, and she sometimes asks to go on a drive-by against enemy gangs. Reward: a dark green Hustler at 50% and the Pimp suit at 100%.

Michelle Cannes — the car lover

Find Michelle inside the driving school in San Fierro. She loves cars, so dates often involve driving — if she asks to drive, let her and stay in the car. She likes bars for dates. Bonus perk: you can respray your car for free at her garage. Rewards: a Monster truck at 50% and a Racing suit at 100%.

Helena Wankstein — the countryside lawyer

Helena is found practising her shooting near the Ammu-Nation in Blueberry, in the countryside, and she lives on a farm in Flint County. She prefers high sex appeal with a bit of muscle and fat. She enjoys restaurants on dates. Perk: weapons such as a pistol, chainsaw, flamethrower and Molotovs spawn in her barn. Rewards: a Bandito buggy at 50% and Rural clothes at 100%.

Katie Zhan — the nurse

Katie can be found near the golf course in San Fierro and lives in Juniper Hollow. She likes a fit, muscular CJ with high sex appeal and enjoys diners. Her perk is one of the best in the game: once you’re dating her, if CJ is wasted you leave the hospital for free and keep your weapons. Rewards: a white Romero hearse at 50% and a Medic uniform at 100%.

Barbara Schternvart — the police officer

Barbara works at the El Quebrados police station in the desert. She likes a bigger CJ, so a high fat stat helps. She enjoys diners. Her perk mirrors Katie’s: if CJ is busted, you keep your weapons and armor. Rewards: a Ranger at 50% and a Police outfit at 100% — which is also just funny to wear.

Millie Perkins — the casino girlfriend

Millie is part of the Las Venturas casino heist story. You meet her in Key to Her Heart, because you need her keycard. She lives in Prickle Pine and enjoys restaurants and bars. You can either date her until you get the card or take it the hard way. Reward: her pink Club car at 50%.

How dating works in GTA San Andreas

1. Meet her and start talking. She judges your looks: muscle, fat, sex appeal and clothes.
2. Call or visit during her available hours and take her out. Her “progress” bar goes up after good dates.
3. Pick the right place. Each girlfriend likes certain venues — fast food, diners, restaurants or bars — and dislikes the rest.
4. Drive carefully. Crashing, getting a wanted level or driving badly on a date lowers her mood.
5. Bring a gift (flowers or similar) and dance well at the club to raise progress faster.

Do you need girlfriends for 100% completion?

No. Dating isn’t required for 100% completion. Millie matters only because of the casino heist storyline. Still, the perks — especially Katie’s and Barbara’s — make the late game much less punishing, so they are worth your time.

Can you date more than one girlfriend?

Yes. CJ can date several women at once. Be careful, though: if one girlfriend catches you with another, she may get angry and your progress with her drops. Keep dates spread out across the map to avoid awkward run-ins.

Car keys and other rewards

As you date a girlfriend more, she gives you her car keys — her car then appears near your safehouses and is yours to use. The 100% rewards are mostly outfits: the Pimp suit (Denise), Racing suit (Michelle), Rural clothes (Helena), Medic uniform (Katie) and Police outfit (Barbara). These outfits are fun, and some players use the medic and police outfits for screenshots and role-play.

How to keep a girlfriend happy

• 📞 Answer her calls. Ignoring dates lowers progress.
• 🚗 Drive safely. Crashes and police chases on a date lower her mood.
• 🍔 Choose the right food. Use the table above.

Common dating questions

What happens if you ignore a girlfriend? Her progress slowly drops if you miss dates or ignore her calls for a long time. If it falls to zero, she breaks up with CJ — and you lose her perks. Can you get her back? Usually yes: visit her again and start dating from scratch, though it takes time to rebuild progress.
