Every GTA lives or dies by its characters, and GTA 6 has the most interesting starting line-up the series has had in years. Rockstar has officially revealed nine characters so far: the two leads, Jason and Lucia, plus seven people from their world — from small-time drug runners in the Keys to music moguls in Vice City. Here is everyone we know about, based on Rockstar’s official character profiles.
Who are the main GTA 6 characters?
GTA 6 has two protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. They are a couple, and the whole story is built around their partnership. Rockstar sums up their situation like this: when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever.
That focus on a relationship is new for the series. GTA 5 had three leads who often didn’t trust each other. GTA 6 puts two people who need each other at the centre — fans have compared them to a modern Bonnie and Clyde since the very first trailer.
All confirmed GTA 6 characters
| Character | Who they are | Connection |
|---|---|---|
| Jason Duval | Protagonist, ex-army, works for drug runners in the Keys | Lucia’s partner |
| Lucia Caminos | Protagonist, fighter, recently out of prison | Jason’s partner |
| Cal Hampton | Conspiracy-minded friend who listens in on Coast Guard comms | Jason’s friend, works with Brian |
| Brian Heder | Old-school drug runner from the Keys | Jason’s boss and landlord |
| Boobie Ike | Vice City legend with legit businesses and a record label | Partner of Dre’Quan |
| Dre’Quan Priest | Former street dealer chasing music success | Runs a label with Boobie, signed the Real Dimez |
| Bae-Luxe & Roxy | The Real Dimez — a rap duo with a huge social following | Signed to Dre’Quan’s label |
| Raul Bautista | Charming, reckless professional bank robber | Recruits new crew members |
Jason Duval
Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. He joined the army hoping to leave that life behind, but it didn’t work out, and he ended up back in the Leonida Keys, doing what he knows best: working for local drug runners. He is thinking about moving up to Vice City — and meeting Lucia is about to change everything.
From the trailers, Jason comes across as calm, capable and a little tired of the small-time life — a good contrast with Lucia’s fire.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia is the character most fans have been talking about — searches for “Lucia GTA 6” are among the most popular GTA 6 searches of all. She grew up in Liberty City and ended up in Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family. Now she is out, she wants control of her own future, and she is determined not to waste her second chance.
Lucia also makes history: she is the first female lead in a main GTA game since the series went 3D. The very first shot of Trailer 1 opened on her, which shows how central she is to the story.
Jason vs Lucia at a glance
| Jason Duval | Lucia Caminos | |
|---|---|---|
| Where they come from | Grew up around crooks; back in the Leonida Keys | Grew up in Liberty City |
| Past | Army service that didn’t straighten him out | Prison time at Leonida Penitentiary |
| Right now | Working for drug runners in the Keys | Out of prison and heading for a fresh start |
| Personality (from the trailers) | Calm, practical, quietly tough | Fierce, determined, a born fighter |
Cal Hampton
Cal is Jason’s friend. He is deep into conspiracy theories and spends his time listening in on Coast Guard radio traffic. He also works with Brian Heder, which ties him closely to Jason’s life in the Keys. Many fans expect Cal to be a “tech guy” the duo can call on, but that role is not confirmed.
Brian Heder
Brian is a classic drug runner from the Keys’ old smuggling days. He likes to make money from the trade without touching the product himself. Brian lets Jason live in one of his properties rent-free — in exchange for help with his business — so he is both Jason’s boss and his landlord. That kind of debt rarely ends well in a GTA story.
Boobie Ike
Boobie Ike is a Vice City legend. He went from the streets to running a set of businesses — real estate, a strip club and a recording studio — while still keeping a foot in the criminal world. His big dream is mainstream music success, and that is where Dre’Quan comes in.
Dre’Quan Priest
Dre’Quan is a former street dealer who always cared more about music than anything else. Together with Boobie he runs Only Raw Records, and he is the one who signed the Real Dimez. Expect missions around the Vice City music scene to run through him.
Real Dimez: Bae-Luxe and Roxy
Bae-Luxe and Roxy are longtime friends and now the rap duo Real Dimez. They built a big following on social media and are signed to Only Raw Records. Their story fits GTA 6’s big theme: life, fame and crime in the age of social media, where everything ends up online.
Raul Bautista
Raul is a professional bank robber: charming, confident and dangerously reckless. He is always looking for new talent for bigger jobs. If GTA 6 has the kind of big heists GTA 5 had, Raul looks like the man who will plan them — and Jason and Lucia could be just the recruits he wants.
GTA 6 characters vs GTA 5’s trio
| GTA 5 (2013) | GTA 6 (2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Number of leads | Three: Michael, Franklin and Trevor | Two: Jason and Lucia |
| Relationship | Uneasy partners who often clash | A couple who rely on each other |
| Setting | Los Santos and Blaine County | Vice City and the state of Leonida |
| Big theme | Midlife crisis, ambition, chaos | Love, loyalty and crime in the social media age |
What the cast tells us about GTA 6’s story
Look at the supporting characters together and a few themes jump out. There is smuggling and drugs in the Keys (Brian, Cal), music and fame in Vice City (Boobie, Dre’Quan, the Real Dimez) and big-money heists (Raul). Social media runs through all of it — the trailers are full of phone footage and viral clips. Expect a story where Jason and Lucia move between these worlds, picking up jobs and enemies along the way.
Who voices the GTA 6 characters?
Rockstar has not officially announced the voice and motion-capture cast. Plenty of names circulate online, but until Rockstar or the actors confirm them, treat them as rumours. We will add the official cast here once it is announced — usually in the game’s credits at launch.
Are any old GTA characters coming back?
Rockstar has not confirmed any returning characters from GTA 5 or earlier games. GTA 6 is a new story with a new cast. That said, Rockstar loves small nods to its history — the Vice City setting itself is a callback to GTA Vice City (2002) — so don’t be surprised by easter eggs once the game is out.
Where do the characters live?
The cast is split across two very different parts of Leonida:
- 🏝️ The Leonida Keys — Jason, Brian and Cal’s world of boats, smuggling and small island towns.
- 🌆 Vice City — where Lucia is heading and where Boobie, Dre’Quan and the Real Dimez chase money and fame.
See every region on our GTA 6 map guide, and catch the latest look at Jason and Lucia in GTA 6 Trailer 3.
The cast and their real-world vibes
Leonida is Rockstar’s satire of Florida, and the cast fits the setting. Jason, Brian and Cal live the boats-and-smuggling life of a place much like the Florida Keys, while Boobie, Dre’Quan and the Real Dimez chase fame in a Vice City music scene that clearly draws on Miami. None of the characters are based on specific real people — Rockstar builds them as exaggerated versions of familiar types, which is exactly what makes GTA’s satire work.
How to keep up with new character reveals
Rockstar posts official character art and profiles on its website and social channels. Bookmark our GTA 6 hub — whenever a new face is confirmed, we add them to this list with a short, spoiler-light profile.
Will there be more characters?
Definitely. Nine characters is only the beginning — a GTA story usually has dozens of important faces, and Rockstar has kept most of them secret. When the game launches on November 19, 2026, we will expand this guide with every new major character.
