Which platforms is GTA 6 on?
At launch, GTA 6 is a current-generation console game only:
- ✅ PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro)
- ✅ Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S
- ❌ PS4 and Xbox One — not supported

GTA 6 delay history
GTA 6 has moved twice since its first trailer in December 2023. Here is the full timeline:

Will GTA 6 be delayed again?
As of this update, no new delay has been announced. Take-Two reaffirmed the November 19 date in its 2026 earnings updates and said big launch marketing would start in summer 2026 — publishers normally only spend on marketing once a date is safe.
Why was GTA 6 delayed?
When Rockstar moved the game to November 2026, it apologised for the longer wait and explained that the extra months were needed to finish GTA 6 at the level of quality players expect from the studio. In plain words: the game was not ready, and Rockstar chose polish over speed.
This is not new for Rockstar. Red Dead Redemption 2 was also delayed twice before launch in 2018, and it went on to become one of the best-reviewed games of its generation. Big delays are frustrating, but they usually mean a smoother launch day with fewer bugs.
What time does GTA 6 unlock?
Exact unlock times depend on your region and store. Digital console games usually unlock either at midnight in your local time zone or at one fixed time worldwide. Check the game's page on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store for the time in your region, and follow our live GTA 6 countdown.
